Olivia Holland, Co-Founder & Teacher

Olivia Holland is a qualified and gifted English teacher. She currently specialises in teaching primary aged children who need assistance with their reading, writing and phonemic awareness.  She also runs creative writing classes to inspire young writers and develop their storytelling ability.

In addition, Olivia teaches gifted learners, high school students in English to HSC Year 12 and English as a second language.  She has worked in schools in Australia, America and England.  She works with teachers on literacy knowledge, effective teaching strategies and literacy development. 

Olivia believes in teaching with positive reinforcements and fostering confidence and independence in all her students.  She has given talks to family and community groups about all aspects of literacy. 

Olivia has been owner/operator of the highly successful Literacy Circle Castle Hill centre for the past 5 years, which now operates as the newly named Australian Literacy Academy.

Liana Chandler, Co-Founder & Teacher

Liana Chandler is a qualified and gifted primary and special education teacher. She currently specialises in teaching primary aged children who need assistance with their reading, writing and phonemic awareness.  She has experience working with children with dyslexia, ADHD, global developmental delay and aspergers.  

In addition, Liana was trained by a speech therapist and educational psychologist to deliver the reading recovery programme in the Parramatta area.   She has worked in schools in Australia, as a learning support teacher and classroom teacher. 

In 2009 and 2014 she delivered talks at Parramatta library with Olivia  regarding how to teach reading, the reluctant reader and writing workshops. 

Liana believes in teaching with positive reinforcements, creating individualised work specific to children's needs and learning styles and fostering confidence in children.   

Liana joined Olivia in 2011 as part of the highly successful Literacy Circle Castle Hill centre.  In 2013 she became co-owner and co-founder of the now highly successful Australian Literacy Academy.

Australian Literacy Academy is a private English tutoring centre dedicated to helping children of all levels and spectrums reach their full potential in the area of literacy: reading, writing, spelling, comprehension and speaking and listening. We provide tutoring at our Castle Hill centre and online
